As an organization we understand that the holidays can be an especially trying time. At Angel Intervention Services in Van Wert Ohio we are doing our best to keep clients busy and focused on the joys that come from the holiday season instead of depression and self-doubt. In an industry where people are struggling to get by, struggling to make sense of the sober world around them and struggling just to keep their heads above water, we encourage everyone to be the light, be the support, and be the hope you want to see in others. As a group we understand that especially during this time of year people in recovery need attention, they need to feel loved and supported and mostly they need to feel like they matter. The intensive outpatient program at Angel Intervention Services is a club house model where clients are welcome to come at any time, we are open, to work on projects, work on writings/journaling, work on mindfulness or just have a safe place to be with a supportive person/s. Our groups are available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:30 to 5:30 pm and one on one counseling sessions are available throughout the week. We will be adding family group sessions and are considering adding a teen group session as well very soon. We are striving to create a new kind of reality based treatment where clients can feel comfortable, not be judged, and be allowed to find out who they are through the recovery process. Having a “home group” can be a very important and comforting thing throughout the holidays when stress levels are high, and temptations are all around.
